| Victor Howard Usher
served as a bomber navigator during World War II and gained
the rank of Flight Lieutenant. He was Managing Director of
W. P. Usher Ltd, a sawdust company established by his
father. He was a Grand Commander of the Order of St. John,
and was awarded the OBE in 1985. He was Mayor of Barnet in
1969 and 1982.
