The Will of Thomas Gawn
late of Halftown County Antrim Farmer who died
24 March 1894 at same place was proved at
Belfast by Andrew Gawn of Halftown Farmer one of
the Executors.
Will of Thomas Gawn, Halftown
In the name of God Amen I Thomas Gawn of Halftown parish of
Donegore and County of Antrim Farmer do make this my last
Will as follows. I leave to my son John the sum of One
Hundred pounds. I leave to my son William Sam, One Hundred
and fifty pounds. I leave to my daughter Margaret the sum of
One hundred and seventy pounds. I leave to my daughter Sarah
Mary the sum of One hundred and fifty pounds. I leave to my
son Andrew all my farm of land and premises in the Halftown.
I also leave to my son Andrew all my stock, crop, and
farming implements But I leave a yearly annuity on my farm
of Ten cwt. of potatoes, five cwt. of oaten meal, one ton
coals to be provided by my son Andrew and delivered to my
two daughters free of charge. I also leave the use of the
house William Sam works in to my two daughters, my son
Andrew to put it in tenantable repair and keep it in
tenantable repair as long as they may require it free of
charge but in case one of my daughters marry she shall give
up her claim to the annuity but the unmarried one shall
receive both their claims of the annuity but if they both
marry then all their claims of the annuity and house cease.
In case it shall happen that my son Andrew shall die without
leaving any children or child surviving him then my said
farm of land shall upon his decease go to my son John with
paying fifty pounds each to each of his surviving sisters
and brother and subject to such of the charges which I have
left thereon as may be then subsisting but if John shall die
before Andrew then in such case Andrew shall be at liberty
to leave or dispose of said farm as he may think fit. I
appoint my brother William Gawn of Halftown and my son
Andrew Gawn Executors of this my last Will and Testament and
revoke all wills heretofore made by me in writings whereof.
