Let me introduce myself.
I am William Andrew Gawn of Halftown, Co. Antrim,
Northern Ireland, living on the farm where one of my
ancestors came over 200 years ago.
He was Andrew Gawn, my Great-great-grandfather who first
lived at Donegore, Co. Antrim, Ireland before he leased
land in Halftown, Co. Antrim in 1801. He was one of a
family of at least seven children, four boys and three
girls. I start with him; but go backward and sideways to
include other family lines which are closely connected.
I have been researching my ancestry for many years and
have amassed a lot of information, some factual and some
anecdotal. These web pages contain that information and
are there for others to use and add to as they see fit.
I have tried to be as accurate as possible in the
information that I give, but at times there are
variations in content between different sources and
therefore there may be some unintentional errors for
which I apologise.
